Globalopoly 2000

Using the dynamics and values inherent in the original Monopoly board game, this version of the game explores the perpetuation of the similar dynamics in colonial histories that unwittingly connect peoples, nations, and continents in a complex web of global political and economic relationships.

Globalopoly is a part of the Serious Games Series (see next project), a light-hearted look at some of the grave and egregioius issues of the world. The intent is not to deflect gravity away from an issue, but rather, to utilize humour incisively to underscore what gets drowned out by laughter - to be more than funny.
